Have you had a chance to take a look at a adorable new fabric line by Simple Simon and Company? It is called Let Them Be Little (When I heard the name of the new line, I already knew I would love it!!).
As you can guess by the name, it is geared towards babies and toddlers, but I see some designs are very much suitable to create whatever your heart desires.
I had a chance to create something fun with them and I decided to make a baby quilt. If you are a long time reader, you know that I don't have a baby at home...guess what? I
am giving away the quilt!!! I will let you know how to enter at the end of the post, but let me tell you how I made the quilt.
I drew out the pattern and made the quilt. I don't have a pattern for you to purchase or to download, but here is what I did.
Gingham Baby Quilt
finished size 40 1/2" x 58 1/2"
*What you will need
Black --- 1 1/2 yard (3/4 yard for the top and 1/2 yard to make bias tape)
Gray --- 1 1/4 yard
White --- 1/2 yard
Backing, batting, thread and proper equipment to make a quilt
*How to
1. Cut 35-5"x 5" pieces from the black fabric, 58-5"x 5" pieces from the gray fabric and 24-5"x 5" pieces from the white fabric.
2. Use the picture as a guide, lay the squares out and piece them together. (using an iron for between piecing will help the finished top come out much nicer)
3. Base the quilt, quilt, and bind.
*Here is the link to how to make bias tape if you know how.
Ta-da! And here is the finished quilt. Now, are you interested in finding out about the giveaway???
The rule is simple, just leave a comment here and tell me your favorite things to sew. That is it! It is easier for me to do a giveaway at one place, so I encourage you to 1.follow me on instagram and 2. to leave a comment on my giveaway post there (that counts as two entries!). But, if you choose to leave a comment here, I will count that in. ;)
I will close the giveaway midnight Friday MDT, and announce the winner on Saturday morning. Good luck everyone!

How beautiful!! I'm just learning to sew at the ripe old age of 50!! It has always intimidated me but I can handle simple designs and projects. Currently I'm working on a tshirt quilt for my 21 yr old son for christmas. He's a huge sports fan so Im incorporating some of his old sports shirts into it. Its been so much fun that I am going to create one for each of my boys based on their interests. Thanks for a chance to win this gorgeous quilt!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and yet simple. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love to sew project bags for knitting.
I enjoy making projects that I call instant gratification. Projects that can be completed in a few hours.
ReplyDeleteFavorite things to sew......quilts, quilts and more quilts. Your quilt is adorable and love that fabric.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - love the colors! I, too, enjoy quilting. And making pretty aprons : )
ReplyDeleteI prefer sewing clothing for my girls.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt! I would love to snuggle under it this fall/winter. My favorite things to sew are little zippered bags or stuff for people I love. Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteI love sewing t-shirts. Thanks for the opportunity
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt - my favorite things to make are baby blankets - quilted and/or crocheted.
ReplyDeleteHi Sachiko, I love this quilt. You made it adorable with this gingham style.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to make is baby quilts, twin bed size quilts, blouses for me, and little girl shorts. I did make both of my daughters vintage bathrobes now that they are mommies.
I have three grand daughters, my oldest daughter has two daughters 3 years and a 3 month old
My youngest daughter has one little daughter that just turned one (she and I finished up the cake this afternoon since I went over to play) and she has another baby due in November. So she will be a happy blessed mama of two girls very soon.
I would love to win this quilt, but if I do not, I wish good luck to the others as well!!
I just love sewing quilt tops together! I have more quilt tops than finished quilts, but I'm slowly working on reversing that!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Sachiko. I live overseas so am probably ineligible to enter anyway but I won't enter as I have no little ones I would give the gorgeous quilt to. Just wanted to say you have done a fantastic job.

What a great quilt! I have a brand new nephew due to be born any day now and how I'd love to see him use this! You are most generous for offering! My favorite thing to sew were the clothes for my young kids (probably toddler stage) and the costumes. There's just something so forgiving about sewing kids' clothes and costumes (kids don't scrutinize your skills) as well as it being rewarding (cute kids!)! These days I mostly sew new pillow covers for our living room pillows to get our home seasonally festive and cozy. I don't have an IG account, but I am hoping my comment wins! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite things to sew are little quilts.
