When I first started blogging, I posted about Rachel's baby clothes and that I had a hard time saying good-bye. I ended up making a memory blanket out of them and I was soo happy with the results...
For other people, the story of the "I can't part with my kids clothes" will be ended here. Not me. Yep, you guessed right, I still couldn't throw away the scraps of the scraps of the baby clothes (Please don't roll your eyes...). I tucked them away and forgot about them.
Lately, Rachel has been into playing house, big time, and taking care of her baby dolls. She has three baby dolls, but I have never bought extra clothes for them. The other day, I have noticed that she is exchanging clothes among those three dolls and trying to come up with new combinations (maybe she wasn't thinking that deep, but at least that's what I thought). They looked really funny.
Then, those scraps came to my mind, I decided to make some clothes for her baby dolls.
I used two different fabrics to make this skirt.
Ruffle tunic and a couple of headbands
Polka dot is always my favorite. Apron and headband for doing house work...
Same dress with Rose scarf for going out.
Sundress with Apron also works...
I haven't given her these clothes yet, but tomorrow, I know I am playing house with Rachel accompanied by three baby dolls in their new outfits. :)

So sweet of you!!! That brings me some memories from my childhood. My mother used to sew almost every week new pieces of clothes for my only Barbie, it was great, that doll had a wardrobe like Carrie Bradshaw without the shoes.
Regards
☺☺☺
I love your memory quilt! I have kept some of my boys baby clothes too - I'm sentimental! I'd like to turn them into a memory quilt one day!
The dolls clothes are so cute!
How sweet!
These are so cute. I am so glad you saved the scraps!
What a beautiful thing to do. Turning memories into heirlooms. Just lovely.

Wow! Your work are soooo stunning!
Incredible! How much cuter (and creative) can a person get? You are amazing and how sweet.
Ooooo..they are super cutie pie!!! Maybe you should make life size ones for Rachel too! Have fun playing house :)
this is so so sweet! she is just gonna love her new doll wardrobe! Other uses for some of the scraps....you can make headbands for her or if you scrap make some of your own embellies out of the clothing scraps. I have done that with my sons clothing.
That will be one stylish doll. Love them.
SOOOO cute and so special! You're amazing... no eye rolling here, only admiration.
Oh. my! They will sure be the best dressed baby dolls ever! These are adorable!!
Such a great idea! I did not roll my eyes at your post; I too have had trouble letting go of anything of Wee One's. I recently made a little ball out of some of his flannel receiving blankets and have been pondering a memory blanket too. The doll clothes you made are absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I love it!!!
very very very beatiful :))
It is so sweet! Memorable quilt and doll clothes are very-very nice!
Best wishes,
Tatyana

What a great idea!!
So so cute!
Sachiko,
WOW!! The ideas you come up with are always so amazing!
I love this!!
Oh, she is going to LOVE them! I also have kept my very favorites of all of my children's first year's clothes. I have stored them well and will give each child their baby clothes when they are having their own. They probably won't want to use them since styles change but I'm sure they will love them anyway.
What a great project...but even better is the fact you are playing WITH your daughter. Too sweet.
Oh my, Sashiko! These are so cute. What a stellar mom you are!
Such beautiful little clothes! Love the memory quilt too. I have a whole stash of clothes I can't part with and plans to make little quilts for my girls.
Ahhhh. I am so in love with both ideas. The memory quilt and the doll clothes. Thank you so much for sharing.
sooo precious!! those are cute enough for us to wear!

I just love this! What an awesome Idea! I love the quilt and love the clothes! I will do this someday for my little guys...the quilts not the doll clothes...lol. You are so talented and creative! Love your blog!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!!
Those little outfits could NOT be any cuter! And, they definitely motivate me to keep learning to sew. I can't wait for the day that I can sew such beautiful things. You are amazing!
Oh my goodness those are so adorable! I love the little polka dot dress with the matching headband, and the apron - I want that outfit!! Love it - what a way to get the most out of yoru baby clothes!!!
oh wow- NOW i know what 2 to with those 2 bins (ok 3 bins) that I cant let go of!
how did you determine measurements- did you use doll clothes you already had, or did you buy a pattern?
so adorable! I've been wanting to make doll clothes, but man, these are great, I can see you've put a lot of thought and time and effort into each piece.
Wow! This is awesome! I'm totally gonna do the same thing with all the clothes I have stashed in a box under my bed. You are amazing!

I actually really like the brown onw with polka dots with the pink apron. You should try and find similar fabric and make your girl a life size one for herself so she can match her dolly....oh that is so cute. I am totally doing that.
I love these!! You are so talented!
Many blessings,
Jill
So completely perfect!!
These are all so adorable.
Nicole,
I did not use a pattern at all. I had to work with whatever I had in leftovers, so I eyeballed the measurments and made it up as I went along.
You are AMAZING and she is going to love it!!!! Some of my fondest memories is making clothes for my dolls with my mom. Ya'll have a blast!
Would it be okay if I just sent you my daughters baby clothes and you make me some doll clothes? I just don't know that I talented enough to do it on my own, but those are so cute. I love the headbands, I want to make some for my daughter, did you use a pattern??
Oh my goodness the DOLL CLOTHES! Did you just wing it on the patterns? So cute!!! Love them all.
The grand kids were over last weekend and little Ella slipped in the mud and needed a change of clothes. I went up stairs to check a recently recovered attic find to discover her mom's shorts and shirt from 39 years ago....a perfect fit and off she went to play - a beautiful memory for both my daughter and me.
OH MY GOSH! I wish I had seen your post a couple weeks ago! I just had to bite the bullet & give my daughter's clothes away because we are moving. I did give them to a good friend - maybe I can get them back? Ugh. A Quit. Dang. Why didn't I think of that!?
And the doll clothes! Too much! So cute!
Just the sweetest little ideas!! Thanks for sharing!!
You know, I don't remember where I found you, but I'm so glad I did. I have sooo many baby girl things... too much to save and too much to part with. I'm going to try both of your projects. Come visit me. I bake. (smile)

I love this! and your beautiful blog! My daughter just turned 2 and I've been planning to convert her newborn clothes into doll clothes (and make a quilt) when she was old enough to actually like her dolls : P I think it's great that you invented whole new outfits too!... i've only really thought as far as hemming onesies to make t-shirts for them : )i'm so with you on saving those scraps! : D you never know and why waste!
I absolutely LOVE this idea!! Did you use any patterns?
Jen
I love this idea. It feels very dear to my heart. I have 2 girls, 7 1/2 and 1, and I know exactly how you feel about their clothes. I saved everything that survived from the older one since I knew I was having more kids, and after 2 boys I was so very glad to have another girl. Once she grows out of some of my very favorites, I think I'll have to make matching blankets for the girls.
I also wanted to let you know that I plan to feature you as a friday find on my blog: www.lyannajeandesigns.com

Really like this website, this really helps and very useful.
Wow oh wow. what a divine set of doll's clothing. Lucky doll girls! I have been thinking about what to do with my daughter's clothes that are made by me but are now outgrown but I don't think that I could bear to cut them up. I daresay there will be yet another plastic tub shoved under the bed with the other "too hard" plastic tubs of kids' paintings and the like.
These doll clothes are absolutely adorable. I bet she was beyond excited when you showed them to her, wasn't she?
What a great idea-and a new, more practical way to turn baby clothes into heirlooms.
Oh my gosh! What a great idea! As for the dolls' clothes: you are so talented! god bless you always.
Really it's a great site which offer doll clothes products. which is so cute clothes, I know my little girl would love some of these.
